For as long as I can remember, music has always played an essential role in my life starting within my family. I went to my first reggae festival when I was 1 year old, my brother had already been working in the music industry back then and would always get the whole family backstage passes for all types of concerts and festivals and he does this for me till this day. I grew up with a huge CD collection of my mother who has a CD for every occasion and car ride. From Sade, Mary J. Blige, TLC and MJ to Bob Marley, Earth Wind and Fire, Maxwell and the Isley Brothers - as seen on the photo - we would listen to everything. I’ve been listening to classical music since I started dancing ballet with 3 years old and later I got influenced by my brothers and listened to all types of Rap, from Biggie and 2Pac to ATCQ and Nas. After that, I found all kinds of alternative Genres for myself and also discovered house and techno, when I started going out. The reason why music and all these genres are so important to me is because they had a huge impact on shaping my identity, the way I think, speak, listen, communicate, dress myself and so many other aspects of my character. I don’t think there is anything I will ever connect to more than listening to music and I am soo grateful that I can forever share this with my family and everyone I choose to be part of my family.

STORY ABOUT MY FAMILY HISTORY
Constantly we evolve
Our body’s change our minds they grow
Oh what would I give to be a former me
To not see what I now see

Constantly we speak and learn
New information everywhere
Who to believe and who to trust
Oh what would I give to be a former me

Constantly we have to age
The more we grow the less we’re safe
The vision of a child - innocent and free
Oh what would I give to be a former me

Constantly we look at screens
We laugh, we cry, we share, we stream
But do we ever see what we should see
Oh what would I give to see me

Constantly we’re said to be
Like this or like that
While no one actually cares to see
Oh what would I give to unsee
The reality in which we are forced to be
A FORMER ME
